Honest Hope · For pastors and caregivers
Using a guide with someone you're caring for.
Every Honest Hope guide is written to be read alone — and built to be walked through with someone. Here is what each one gives you.
Before you hand someone a guide
- Read it first, all the way to the end. Each guide says plainly what Scripture promises and what it does not; you'll want to know both before you sit with someone.
- The group map is four sessions, not one. It's near the end of each guide. Use it over four weeks; don't try to do the whole guide in an evening.
- The printable is for the table, not the sermon. One page, meant to be handed across, written in, and kept.
- You are not the last line. Every guide names 988 and licensed help where they belong. When a conversation goes past what a guide is for, that's the moment to say so.
The eight guides
When God Feels Silent: His Silence Is Not His Absence
His silence is not His absence. For everyone quietly asking, “Is He there — and does He care that I am?”
Your Adult Child’s Choices Are Not Proof That You Failed
What Proverbs 22:6 actually says — and what it never promised. For every parent quietly asking, “Did I do this?”
You Can Forgive Someone Without Rebuilding an Unsafe Relationship
Forgiveness, reconciliation, and trust are three different roads — and Scripture never asked you to walk them as one.
Nothing in Your Past Puts You Beyond God’s Grace
What Scripture actually says about failure and usefulness — for everyone who serves a little less, sits a little farther back.
Repentance Is Not the Same as Living in Shame
You turned. You confessed. This page is about why you are still carrying it — and what God says about a sentence He never gave.
How to Pray When You Are Angry With God
What Scripture actually says about the fury you’ve been hiding from Him — for everyone praying polite prayers through gritted teeth.
God Is Not Punishing You Every Time Something Goes Wrong
What Scripture actually says about suffering and payback — for everyone lying awake running the audit.
Doubt Is Not the Opposite of Faith
“I believe. Help my unbelief!” is a prayer Jesus answered with a healing — this page is about the question you’ve been afraid to ask out loud.
