The courtroom you keep reconvening in your head adjourned the day you came to Christ — the verdict is “no condemnation,” now, not after probation. And the people God actually used all have a file still in the drawer: He did not merely forgive them. He commissioned them.
Three steps you can take today
- Run the résumés. Paul, Peter, the woman at the well — commissioned with the file still in the drawer (1 Timothy 1:15–16).
- Watch the two charcoal fires. Peter failed three years in — and Jesus rebuilt him at a second fire, one question per denial: “Feed my sheep” (John 21:15–17).
- Bring the calendar too. Into the grief of the lost years God said, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25).
