What we collect from you, why, and who else sees it. Plain language, and short on purpose, because we collect very little.

Who we are

Clear Path Bible Studies (“Clear Path,” “we,” “us”) is a Christian teaching ministry based in Indiana, USA. This policy covers this website, clearpathbiblestudies.com, including the Bible studies, the Hope Guides, and the free PDF study guides. Our shop at shop.clearpathbiblestudies.com is run separately and has its own policies.

The short version: we do not run an email list, we do not use advertising or analytics tools, and we do not sell your information. We collect only what you type into one of our forms.

What we collect

What you send us through our forms. The site has three forms on the Contact page. Each one asks for your name and email address and your message. The others ask for a little more:

  • Contact: subject.
  • Feedback and testimony: the type of message, the study or page you are responding to, whether we may quote you publicly, and whether we may follow up.
  • Partnership: your organization and role, the kind of interest and your timeframe, how you prefer to be reached, and a phone number. The phone number is optional.

Please do not put sensitive details in a form, such as health, financial, or account information. If you are in crisis, forms are not watched in real time. See our crisis and help resources and call or text 988 in the U.S., or call 911 in an emergency.

What the site records automatically. Our web host, Netlify, receives your device’s IP address and basic request details (such as the page you asked for and your browser type) each time a page loads. Hosts do this to deliver pages and keep sites secure. We do not run analytics or tracking tools of our own.

Spam protection. Each form has a hidden field that people never see. Automated programs fill it in, and that tells us to discard the message.

We do not ask for payment details on this website.

How we use it

  • To read your message and reply to you.
  • To follow up, only if you said we may.
  • To quote your testimony publicly, only if you said we may. We will not publish your email address or phone number.
  • To keep the site secure and working.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Email

We do not currently keep a mailing list or send newsletters. We use your email address to answer the message you sent. If we ever start a list, you will be asked to sign up for it on purpose, every message will carry an unsubscribe link, and we will update this page first.

Cookies and what stays in your browser

Cookies. We do not set cookies for tracking or advertising.

Fonts. The pages of this main site serve their typefaces from our own site. The interactive study apps load the Lora and Poppins typefaces from Google Fonts, so opening a study asks Google’s servers for those font files, and Google receives your IP address and browser details, as with any web request. We add no other Google service to the studies.

Your notes and progress. The interactive studies save your answers, notes, and progress in your own browser, on your own device. That information is not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it, and so does switching to another browser or device.

The PDF guides. Downloading a study guide does not ask for your name or email.

Who else handles your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. These are the only others who handle it:

  • Netlify, our web host, delivers the site, receives form submissions on our behalf, and stores them for us. It processes data in the United States and elsewhere under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
  • Our email service carries the notification we receive when a form is sent, and carries our replies to you.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it, or where someone’s safety is at serious risk.

The site also links to other places, such as our shop, Instagram, and Amazon. Those sites have their own policies, and this one does not cover them.

How long we keep it

We keep form messages for as long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, and then we delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

Your choices

You may ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send us a message and say which you want. We will reply by email. You can also use the site without sending us anything at all.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit who can see form submissions to those who need to answer them. No method of sending information over the internet is perfectly secure, so please keep the points above about sensitive details in mind.

Children

Our resources are written for adults and for families and groups led by an adult. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

Our host and our email service process information in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your message will be handled there.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top. If we ever change what we collect, for example by starting an email list or adding analytics, we will update this page before we do it.

Questions about your privacy can go through our contact form. We reply by email.
